Scheduling a Test on RegisterBlast

If you are a student with accommodations, make sure you update your accommodations (link) with us before scheduling your test. If you schedule the test before your profile is updated, you will be scheduling the test without accommodations. Reservations made without accommodations may be canceled or rescheduled.

We are appointment based and do not accept walk-ins. Test reservations must be made at least 3 days in advance of the test date.

For information regarding the Computer-based Testing Facility, see Computer-based Testing Facility for students.

1. Log into RegisterBlast via SSO

To schedule a test, visit RegisterBlast (link). Once you're on RegisterBlast, select the yellow circle at the upper right-hand corner of the screen. You will then see a drop-tab, select "sign in." After selecting "sign in," you will be prompted to the Active Directory login. Use your UCSD credentials to sign in.

The photo is a screenshot of the student scheduling page on RegisterBlast. At the top corner, there is a drop-tab under the yellow circle. The drop tab contains “My History” and “Sign In.” “Sign in” is outlined by a red box to show students where to sign-in.

2. Choose a group

Under "Choose a group," select the course code of the test you need to schedule.

For example, if you need to schedule your Psychology Midterm, you need to locate PSYC in the drop tab.

The photo is a screenshot of the first step in the student scheduling page in RegisterBlast. The first step of scheduling a test is to “Choose a group.” The example in the photo shows the list of classes students can schedule based on course code, such as MAE, NANO, and SIO. In the photo, “PSYC,” is outlined by red box to serve as an example that the student needs to schedule a Psychology test.

3. Choose an exam

Under "Choose an Exam," select the test you need to schedule.

Note: Be cautious when browsing through the list of tests as there can be several instructors teaching the same course. Many TAs also register the test on behalf of the instructor. Please verify the TA's name with your instructor.

You may also notice that your class has set up the assessments for the quarter, including the Final. As long as the test is available on RegisterBlast, you are encouraged to schedule all tests as early as possible.

If you do not see your test, the instructor has not registered their test with us. You will need to contact your instructor to determine if they will be using the TTC or administering their test within the Department.

The image displays the next step in the scheduling page on RegisterBlast. After choosing a group, the student will need to select the test they intend on scheduling. The example in the photo lists the Psychology tests in our system that the student can schedule. The “PSYC 101 – 08/02/2025 - Final Exam – K. Jiang” is outlined by a red box, indicating this is the test that the user plans on scheduling.

4. Choose a date

Under "Choose a Date," select which date you would like to test. The bolded date is the instructor's authorized testing date.

Note: Each instructor has their own testing window. Testing windows can vary depending on the instructor. If the date is not bolded, this means your instructor has not approved that day for testing.

If you are scheduling your test less than 3 days in advance, please contact us at tritontesting@ucsd.edu for further assistance.

The image displays the scheduling page in RegisterBlast. After choosing an exam, the student will need to select the day they intend to take the test. The example in the photo lists the dates that students can schedule for Psychology 101. The date that is available, August 2, is bolded and outlined by a red box. This indicates this is the day that is the only day available to be scheduled and is the date the student has selected.

5. Choose a Time

Under "Choose a Time," select the time that you are available to test. When scheduling, keep in mind your course schedule, commute time, and any other factors that may prevent you from showing up on time. Refer to our late policy for more information.

If you see "No time slots available," this means we are fully booked.

Note: Professors can restrict the time allowed for students to take their tests. If a time does not show up for testing, this likely means the time you wish is outside of your instructor’s testing window or we are fully booked.

The image displays the scheduling page in RegisterBlast. After selecting the date, the student will need to pick a time to test. The example in the photo lists the available time slots in the drop tab for the Psychology 101 Final. The only time that is available is 11 am and it is outlined by a red box.

6. Select your Accommodations

Under "Select your Accommodations," please select the accommodations you wish to utilize for this exam.

If you do not wish to utilize your accommodations, select the "I choose not to use any accommodations on this registration" box.

If you do not have accommodations, move on to the next step.

Note: Only select the accommodations you wish to use for this specific test (e.g. if you are allowed a UCSD device to type short or long answer questions, but this exam is multiple choice, then you would not select the UCSD device accommodation.)

CAUTION: You cannot opt to use your accommodations the day of your test if you did not select them for your reservation. Should you need to modify your reservation, please contact us at tritontesting@ucsd.edu as soon as possible. Rescheduling is not guaranteed.

The image displays the scheduling page in RegisterBlast. After selecting the desired start time, the student will need to select the accommodations they wish to use if applicable. There is also an option to opt out of using the accommodations, this box is encircled in red.

7. Who is taking this exam

Under "Who is taking this exam," verify your first and last name and email address are correct. Then, select the boxes next to the "I agree" statements.

Note: You will be unable to register for your test unless you select the "I agree "boxes.

The image displays the scheduling page in RegisterBlast. After selecting the accommodations, they wish to use, the student will verify their personal information as well as agree to the terms and conditions of the TTC. The example in the photo lists the first name, last name, and email of a student named, Triton Testing. There is a red box around the personal information and terms of agreement to highlight the information the scheduler needs to confirm. The terms of agreement are checked off, signaling that the student accepts them.

8. Exam Guideline Acknowledgement

There will be a summary of our testing policies and procedures under the "Exam Guideline Acknowledgement." Read through the acknowledgement as it contains important information about your test reservation.

Once finished, check off the "I agree" button.

10. Confirmation Email

As soon as you select "Add to Cart," you will receive a confirmation email with the details of your test reservation from support@registerblast.com. You may need to check your junk or spam folder for the email.

If you do not receive a confirmation email, you did not successfully schedule your test. You will need to schedule the test once again.

Note: Take the time to read through the confirmation email and verify your testing information is correct (test name, date, time duration, and location) and to review a summary of our policies and procedures.

If there are any errors with your reservation, you can view our FAQ page or email us at tritontesting@ucsd.edu.
